Apple-owned audio brand Beats has intensified speculation surrounding its unreleased over-ear headphones by continuing to showcase the mystery device through high-profile football stars during the FIFA World Cup.
The latest round of sightings involved players Antonee Robinson of the United States and South Korea’s Lee Kang-in, both of whom were photographed wearing the yet-to-be-announced headphones. Their appearances follow earlier images featuring Spanish football sensation Lamine Yamal, who had previously been seen sporting the same model. The repeated use of prominent athletes appears to be part of Beats’ longstanding marketing strategy of generating excitement ahead of a product launch.
The newly surfaced images have added to intrigue surrounding the headphones, particularly because of their varying colour combinations. While Yamal was seen with a pink version, Lee’s pair appeared to feature a white frame with lime-green earcups, and Robinson’s version combined white with dark blue accents. The contrasting designs have prompted speculation that Beats may be introducing a degree of customisation, allowing consumers to mix and match colours according to personal preference.
Although Beats has yet to officially unveil the product, industry observers believe the headphones could represent an updated version of the Beats Studio Pro, which debuted in 2023. The device’s over-ear design, visible USB-C charging port and button controls suggest a premium offering rather than a successor to the more affordable Beats Solo line. Earlier regulatory filings had hinted at the existence of a new Beats audio product, fuelling anticipation among technology enthusiasts.
Despite the growing number of public appearances, the company has remained silent about specifications, pricing and release dates. However, the sustained promotional campaign during one of the world’s biggest sporting events has strengthened expectations that an official announcement could arrive in the coming weeks, potentially making the mystery headphones Beats’ next major product launch.
