Kharagpur Division Celebrates 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 with Enthusiastic Participation

Kharagpur, West Bengal : Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation across the division. The main event was organized at SERSA Stadium, Kharagpur, where Lalit Mohan Pandey, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Kharagpur, along with Branch Officers, railway employees, members of SERWWO, Scouts & Guides, and representatives of Patanjali Parivar, participated in a mass yoga session.

The event commenced with the performance of various yoga asanas and breathing exercises under the guidance of experienced yoga practitioners. Participants enthusiastically joined the session, reaffirming their commitment to adopting yoga as a way of life for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Addressing the gathering, DRM Kharagpur highlighted the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. He emphasized that yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a holistic approach to health that promotes harmony between mind and body. He encouraged all railway employees and their family members to incorporate yoga into their daily routine as a mantra for a healthy, disciplined, and stress-free life.

The celebration witnessed active participation from all sections of the railway fraternity, reflecting the collective commitment of Kharagpur Division towards promoting health, wellness, and fitness among its employees and stakeholders.

Similar International Day of Yoga programs were organized at major stations and establishments across Kharagpur Division, including Baleshwar, Shalimar, Haldia, Mecheda, Santragachi, and other locations. Railway employees, officers, Scouts & Guides, and local participants joined these events in large numbers, making the occasion a grand success throughout the division.

The observance of International Day of Yoga reinforces Indian Railways’ commitment for fostering a healthy workforce and spreading awareness about the numerous benefits of yoga for individual and community well-being.
