PM Narendra Modi travels to Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic for four days.

This morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed on his four-day tour to the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan. Mr. Modi stated in his farewell address that he was confident that his trip to the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan will improve India’s cultural ties to the region and fortify its strategic alliances in Central Asia. The India-Uzbekistan Strategic Partnership has advanced significantly in recent years, he remarked.

The prime minister stated that he is eager to speak with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the president of Uzbekistan, about advancing the common goals of Yangi Uzbekistan and Viksit Bharat as well as strengthening cooperation in trade and investment, digital connectivity, defence, and energy.

The Shastri Memorial and the Mahatma Gandhi Center at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, which honour the strong cultural and interpersonal links that unite the two nations, will also be visited, according to Mr. Modi.

The prime minister announced that he will fly to Bishkek to attend the 26th SCO Summit at the invitation of Sadyr Zhaparov, the president of the Kyrgyz Republic. Mr. Modi stated that he is eager to advance India’s vision for the region, which is based on security, connectivity, and opportunity, and to collaborate with other members to create a region free from the scourges of extremism, terrorism, and separatism, which continue to jeopardise peace and stability in the neighbourhood and beyond.

The Prime Minister stated that he will see President Zhaparov and other SCO officials while in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as attend the 6th World Nomad Games Opening Ceremony.
