India, Ethiopia Discuss Strengthening Defence Cooperation

New Delhi: Ambassador Nebiyu Tedla, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Ethiopia, met Joint Secretary Shri Amitabh Prasad in New Delhi on September 2, 2026, to discuss ways to further strengthen India-Ethiopia defence cooperation.The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in defence training, defence industry partnerships and United Nations Peacekeeping operations. Both sides also explored opportunities in new and emerging areas of defence cooperation.The meeting underlined the growing importance of India-Ethiopia strategic engagement and the shared interest in deepening institutional ties, capacity building and cooperation in the defence sector.
