Logitech Begins Manufacturing in India, Starts Assembly of Webcams and Mice in Haryana

News Mania Desk/ Piyal Chatterjee/ 16th October 2026

Global technology company Logitech has started local manufacturing and assembly operations in India, establishing a production base in Manesar, Haryana. Announced on October 15, the move marks the company’s first manufacturing footprint in the country and expands its existing operations beyond sales, marketing and research and development.

The company has partnered with domestic manufacturers to begin assembling high-demand products, initially focusing on webcams and pointing devices, including computer mice. Logitech said the initiative would help it respond more quickly to Indian customers, shorten delivery timelines and strengthen its supply chain.

The development also aligns with the government’s Make in India initiative, which aims to encourage domestic manufacturing and strengthen India’s industrial capabilities.

According to the company, India is an important growth market, supported by increasing digital adoption and demand for personal computing products. The country recorded nearly 970 million internet subscriptions and close to 16 million PC sales in 2025, figures that highlight the potential for technology companies to expand their presence.

Logitech already operates sales and marketing channels in India and has a Global Capability Centre in Chennai that supports its research and development activities. The new manufacturing operations in Haryana add a production component to its existing presence.

The company plans to expand local sourcing of components after its initial assembly operations stabilise. This phased approach is expected to strengthen ties with domestic suppliers and gradually increase manufacturing capabilities. Logitech has not disclosed the names of its manufacturing partners or the investment involved in setting up the facility.

Local production is also expected to improve logistics efficiency by bringing manufacturing closer to consumers. Shorter supply routes could reduce transportation requirements and freight-related emissions. However, the company has not indicated that local manufacturing will immediately result in lower product prices in India. It has emphasised that products assembled domestically will continue to meet its global quality standards.
