The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has condemned the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai and urged the Maharashtra government to strengthen security arrangements for members of the film industry. The organisation has called for a thorough investigation into the attack and action against those responsible.

According to reports, unidentified gunmen opened fire at Shroff’s car in the Juhu area of Mumbai on Sunday evening, October 18. The actor escaped without serious injury, while his driver and another driver were reportedly injured in the incident. The shooting has raised concerns about the safety of prominent personalities associated with the entertainment industry.

In its response, FWICE described the incident as a serious security concern and stressed the need for effective measures to protect actors, directors, producers, technicians and other film workers. The organisation urged law enforcement agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and ensure that those involved are identified and brought to justice.

The industry body also pointed to an earlier firing incident involving filmmaker Rohit Shetty, expressing concern over attacks targeting prominent figures in Bollywood. It called on the state government and police to review existing security arrangements and take steps to prevent similar incidents.

The incident also drew attention after a social media post allegedly linked the attack to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, the claim had not been independently verified by authorities at the time of the report, and the investigation was continuing.

Meanwhile, police reportedly detained three men suspected of involvement in the shooting in Rajasthan’s Kota on Monday. Further investigation is expected to establish their alleged roles and determine the circumstances behind the attack. FWICE’s appeal comes amid growing concerns over the safety of film personalities and the potential threats they may face. The organisation has emphasised that ensuring security is essential for the film industry to function without intimidation or fear.
