How Many Steps Are Required To Lose Weight Exactly?
Over time, the benchmark for optimal health has evolved to include 10,000 steps every day. In order to maintain lifespan and good health, people intentionally work to reach this magic number on their fitness monitors. But does doing all those steps help prevent chronic diseases like diabetes and obesity? This question was addressed in new research, which also listed all of the procedures that must be taken in order to prevent chronic obesity.
The study, Association of step counts over time with the risk of chronic disease, which used data from the All of Us Research Program’s electronic health records, was published in the journal Nature. It indicated that doing 8,600 steps a day will help prevent weight gain. It also mentioned that those who are already overweight can reduce their risk of becoming fat by half by walking 11,000 steps per day.
6,000 persons were examined for the study over a four-year period by researchers. Walking can help avoid other illnesses including depression, diabetes, and hypertension, according to the report.
According to the results, even after accounting for step intensity, the relationship between step counts and disease risk for diabetes, GERD, and sleep apnea persisted. Significant relationships between step intensity and these results were also found.
