Academics, Scientists , Researchers from various universities and institutions of Higher Education including IIT Kharagpur, Jadavpur University, Calcutta University, Kalyani University organised a press conference at Press Club of Kolkata to express their concern on violence , atrocities , torture and killing of Hindu and other minorities in Bangladesh that is going on after fall of Sheikh Hasina Government on 9th August 2024.
Dr. Jishnu Basu eminent scientist , Prof .Ayan Datta of IACS , Prof. Papia Mitra addressed the press conference.
The group of civil society members called for stopping of violence and killing against women , children , aged members as well as stopping of destruction of properties of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
The civil society members called upon Central & State Governments to provide humanitarian aid to victims of violence who are taking refuge in Indian border area.
