It’s a matter of pride that the award winning, free of cost, global awareness program ‘I AM THE KING OF MY MIND’ conducted by actor/activist/teacher of method acting Bobby Chakraborty, against addiction of all sorts and harmful social trends among the youth, has reached the educational institutions of United States of America.
The two main personalities responsible for organising these much needed sessions in U. S. A. are Sanku Mallik and Ipsita Mallik, both renowned scientists at North Dakota State University ,who are strong soldiers of Bobby’s fight against these social evils, which are destroying the young generation.
We spoke with Bobby or our very own ‘Bobbydada’ who had this to say:-
“Among all countries I have interacted with globally, I felt that The Government of U.S.A. has been the most receptive about the immediate necessity of this awareness among the children, who are our future. With the advent of smart phones and social media, there is a totally dark parallel universe that the children dwell upon, even before their teens. The harm that is being caused to their mental well being is fatal even before they realize the trap of no return they are in! A trap of ‘views’, ‘subscription’ and ‘followers’! They are ready to go to any extent , getting even more entangled in that dirty trap! Then ofcourse there is the recurring menace of substance abuse forever that a child imbibes in the growing up years to look ‘cool’ and be ‘accepted’!
Among all the institutions I have visited in U.S.A. till date , there is this one school , ‘Cheney Middle School’ in Fargo which has welcomed me and my mission with much warmth, through the able support of the Dean of Students, Candida Braun and the Principals, Donald Lennon and Amber Rudolph . There have been numerous sessions in this particular school with terrific feedback from all the students and their parents, as is evident from the photos.
Awareness against addiction, the lack of which has destroyed my family, is all I want! Nothing more, nothing less. “
