Kolkata, July 10: The Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata 2026, India’s oldest and largest travel show network, commenced at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, bringing together leading tourism boards, travel companies, hospitality brands, airlines, and international destinations to strengthen travel trade opportunities across Eastern and Northeastern India.
The three-day exhibition was inaugurated by West Bengal Tourism & Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shankar Ghosh. Guests of Honour included Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, Goa Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte, and Khun Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by senior government officials, diplomats, tourism administrators, and industry leaders from Nepal, Thailand, Japan, the Maldives, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, reflecting the fair’s growing international stature.
Organised by Fairfest Media, TTF Kolkata serves as a key platform for tourism promotion, business networking, and destination marketing. The event features participation from Indian states, international tourism authorities, travel technology providers, hotels, airlines, tour operators, and hospitality companies seeking to expand their presence in one of India’s fastest-growing travel markets.
Speaking at the inauguration, Sanjiv Agarwal, Founder & CEO of Fairfest Media, said Kolkata occupies a unique place in the history of TTF as the city where the exhibition first began. He noted that West Bengal and Eastern India continue to be among the country’s most important tourism destinations and source markets. He added that the new government in West Bengal has brought renewed optimism to the tourism sector, with Bengal being showcased as a destination at TTF after a gap of several years.
Held strategically ahead of the Durga Puja festivities and the winter holiday booking season, the exhibition provides tourism stakeholders with an ideal opportunity to engage with travel buyers from Eastern and Northeastern India. Organisers expect the event to boost destination promotion, business collaborations, and outbound as well as domestic tourism.
Among the major attractions this year are Thailand as the Feature Country, while West Bengal and Odisha have been highlighted as Partner States, underscoring their focus on attracting greater tourist footfall and investment.
TTF Kolkata 2026 is expected to further strengthen Eastern India’s position as a vital hub for tourism, hospitality, and travel trade, while fostering new partnerships between domestic and international stakeholders.
