Assam Joins The Guinness Book Of World Records
At Janata Bhawan in Guwahati on March 9, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma accepted the Guinness Book of World Records honor on the state government’s behalf.
The greatest photo collection of handwritten essays on Lachit Borphukan, a famous fighter of the Ahom Dynasty, was given to the Assam government and entered into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Although CM Sarma claimed that as many as 57 lakh essays were gathered, 42,94,350 handwritten essays were taken into account by Guinness World Records.
He claimed that this occasion had raised the Assamese people’s heads.
On the occasion of Lachit Divas, the state government launched a website where people could contribute essays about Lachit Borphukan.
A new construction located on the banks of the Brahmaputra will house the Saraighat Memorial, which will house statues of every ahom fighter.
Alaboi Ranakshetra, a 150-foot bronze monument, is being built in Jorhat and will be finished in 18 months.
Although the state government did not start the essay-writing campaign with the intention of setting any records, CM Sarma is attempting to do so on April 14 with the help of more than 11,000 Bihu performers.
On February 28, CM Sarma announced that a total of 11,140 artists would appear at the Goru Bihu celebration on April 14 in Guwahati’s Sarusajai stadium.
On April 14, he stated, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the event, which was primarily organized to increase awareness of Bihu on a global scale.
The Guinness World Records, which has granted its initial approval, has already received a sample video of the Bihu dance performed by a small number of dancers, the chief minister claims.
