BJP leader Nazia Elahi Khan has recently responded to Indian cricketer Shivam Dube’s wife, Anjum Khan, after a controversial Instagram story posted by Anjum went viral on social media. The story, which has since been deleted, criticized Nazia over her recent remarks and actions, particularly her comments against Prophet Muhammad, Rahul Gandhi, and the Congress party. The post quickly garnered attention, leading to a sharp retort from Nazia.
In the now-deleted Instagram story, Anjum Khan expressed her frustration with Nazia’s repeated statements against radical Islam and urged Muslims to take action against the BJP leader. Anjum’s story featured a picture of Nazia with a “boycott” sign, urging her followers to call for Nazia’s arrest, emphasizing the importance of defending the Prophet’s honor. This post gained traction across social media platforms, sparking a heated exchange between the two women.
In response, Nazia Elahi Khan took to social media to address Anjum’s post. She pointed out that Anjum, who married cricketer Shivam Dube in 2021, is no longer considered a Muslim under Islamic law, citing her marriage to a Hindu as the reason. Nazia’s rebuttal was direct and unyielding, reminding Anjum of her new religious status and questioning the legitimacy of her stance on Islamic matters.
Moreover, Nazia went further by tagging prominent figures and authorities in her response, including BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and the Delhi Police. She urged them to keep a close watch on Shivam Dube, implying that Anjum’s post could have been influenced by political motivations, possibly orchestrated under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi. Nazia’s tweet suggested that Anjum might be part of a broader Congress strategy, linking the controversy to Telangana and the Congress party’s alleged involvement.
Anjum Khan’s Instagram story accused Nazia of spreading hatred through her public remarks, particularly those targeting the Prophet. She called on her followers to join her in demanding Nazia’s arrest, arguing that if Muslims do not react strongly to such insults, it reflects a loss of faith. Anjum’s message was clear: she believed that action must be taken against Nazia for her offensive comments and urged the Muslim community to rally together in response.
The social media exchange has placed both women in the spotlight, with their statements drawing attention to the ongoing tensions between religious and political figures in India. Nazia Elahi Khan, known for her active role in the BJP as a Minority Leader and her involvement in various social causes, has a history of controversial remarks and actions. Her bio on social media highlights her position within the BJP and her leadership roles in multiple committees, including her work as chairperson of the Muslim Women Resistance Committee.
Nazia gained significant attention a few years ago when she was arrested for allegedly posing as a fake advocate in the Triple Talaq case involving Ishrat Jahan. Despite the controversy, she has continued her activism, advocating for women’s rights across communities and running several NGOs focused on these issues.
This recent altercation between Nazia and Anjum Khan underscores the complex and often contentious relationship between politics, religion, and social media in India. As the story continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how this exchange will impact the public perception of the individuals involved and their respective causes.
