BOBBY CHAKRABORTY’S INSPIRATIONAL 399th ANTI ADDICTION CAMPAIGN AT IIMC SIKSHANGAN HOGOLKURIA, 24 PGS(SOUTH)

On July 13th , actor/activist/teacher of method acting, Mr. Bobby Chakraborty’s global , award winning, free of cost anti addiction campaign no. 399, took place at IIMC Sikshangan Hogolkuria (24pgs -South) , which is a rural school for the lesser privileged. It was his 3rd session in this school, founded by Dr. Sujit Kr. Brahmochary and Mrs. Barnali Brahmochary, both strong supporters of Bobby’s awareness program, right from its inception.

It was a warm, humid afternoon, when around 300 students of the 7th – 10th grade assembled around the stage on the ground outdoors. The session started with a welcome speech from the teacher-in-charge Mr. Avishek Chatterjee. It was a challenge henceforth for Bobby to keep the attention of the students intact, who were sitting all around him, instead of just at his usual frontside.

But as it happens in all his adda’s, it didn’t take much time for Bobby to make it clear to the students, who he calls his ‘soldiers’, that this particular session can change their lives for the better, if they learn to fight against ‘harmful popular trends’.

The official photographer was Ayush Das ,an extremely well mannered, hardworking soldier from class 10.

Bobby based his adda on the simple yet powerful formula of life being HCF(Health-Career-Family) , which led the soldiers to shout out the mantra ‘I AM THE KING OF MY MIND’ at the top of their voices, innumerable times.

Bobby started with the perils of substance abuse and then switched gears to the irreparable damage that the evils of smartphone, misuse of internet and social networking sites are causing to the mental health of a young mind. He deviced easy and effective ways to combat with all these evils, which made the session very interesting for the children.

He narrated the true story about his family of how his uncle died out of addiction, which brought tears in everyone’s eyes.

The ceremonial title of ‘the 1st soldier’ went to Ritesh, who was the most vocal and interactive throughout the session. The title of ‘the trendsetter’ went to Ayan.

The surprise contest at the end had Raja, Rupam and Suparna as the winners, who along with Ayush were given special HCF t-shirts, gifts and community service certificates by Bobby.

Bobby thanked Mr.Apurba Chakraborty for coordinating everything perfectly on behalf of IIMC to make this extremely interactive session into a memorable one, before he drove off the campus, with his teary eyed soldiers bidding their ‘Bobbydada’ an emotional goodbye.
