Along the India-Bangladesh border in Murshidabad, West Bengal, four Bangladeshi nationals with counterfeit Aadhaar cards have been detained by Border Security Force (BSF) officers, along with an Indian national who was allegedly employed to help them enter. According to reports, the fake Aadhaar cards were created in Bangladesh with the goal of allowing its holders to cross the border and go to Chennai in pursuit of employment.
BSF soldiers from the 73rd Battalion at the Bamanabad Border Outpost noticed “suspicious movements” close to the border on Tuesday at approximately 3:35 p.m. They sounded an alarm and attacked five people trying to enter the country. Despite opposition and attempts to break through, the BSF men reportedly launched a powerful counterattack that sent the infiltrators fleeing.
The Indian smuggler allegedly admitted to being hired to help the Bangladeshis cross the border in exchange for Rs 4,000 per person during questioning at the Bamanabad Border Outpost.When the four Bangladeshi nationals were questioned further, it was allegedly discovered that they were from the Godagari sub-district of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, and that a Bangladeshi tout stationed there had given them phony Indian Aadhaar cards. For the fake documents, each of them had paid 1,000 Bangladeshi Taka.
The people who were arrested have been sent over to the Raninagar police station for additional legal action.The BSF South Bengal Frontier Public Relations Officer, DIG N K Pandey, was pleased with the operation and the BSF’s “unwavering vigilance and quick response.” He emphasized the BSF’s dedication to protecting the border between Bangladesh and India.
