CGHS beneficiaries will be able to get cashless treatment in AIIMS
The Government of India is continuously making health facilities accessible. While Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is being run for more than 50 crore people, crores of rupees have been saved by patients through buying cheap medicines at Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras. Now cashless treatment facility has been started at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for the treatment of crores of beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). It can be availed by CGHS beneficiaries in Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Jodhpur, Raipur, and Rishikesh AIIMS. Very soon apart from Delhi AIIMS, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh and the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research in Puducherry will also have the facility of cashless treatment. With this decision of the Central Government, apart from serving, retired employees and their dependent families, Members of Parliament, Ex-Members of Parliament, and other categories of CGHS beneficiaries will also get the facility of treatment in OPD and IPD. Till now, CGHS beneficiaries had to make payments after getting treatment at these places and then claim the expenses. Hospitals will be paid by CGHS within 30 days. These six AIIMS have a super specialty, trauma, and emergency facilities including cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, urology, cardiovascular thoracic surgery, oncology, and many more. Presently CGHS is functioning in 79 cities in the country.
