Conjunctivitis Outbreak in Arunachal Pradesh Prompts Temporary Closure of Schools
As conjunctivitis cases continue to surge in Arunachal Pradesh, posing a significant risk to children, several district administrations have taken proactive measures to control the spread of the disease. In response to the outbreak of the eye infection, authorities in various districts, including the state capital Itanagar and Kanubari sub-division of Longding district, have ordered the temporary suspension of school activities.
The recent increase in conjunctivitis cases has raised concerns among health officials and prompted the implementation of precautionary measures. Both private and government schools in East Siang district will remain closed until August 2, while educational activities in Namsai have been suspended until July 31.
The decision to close schools temporarily comes after a comprehensive survey conducted by district surveillance units. The survey revealed a notable rise in conjunctivitis cases, necessitating immediate action to prevent further spread of the infection.
