Cossipore Club Samannay Samiti organised  a grand cultural program on the auspicious occasion of Bengali New Year

Cossipore Club Samannay Samiti (CCSS) organised  a grand cultural program on the auspicious occasion of Bengali New Year on 15th of April, Saturday, at Mahajati Sadan from 2 P.M., to pay our tribute to the pioneers of Bengali language and literature.

The name of the program is ‘Borsho Borone Bornoporichoy’, which  is a tribute to the legendary book ‘Bornoporichoy’, created by Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, to remind every Bengali about their  first encounter with the Bengali language and Bengali alphabates.

The purpose of the program is to celebrate the Bengali Culture and traditions. The event is a journey down memory lane and to explore affection to wards our mother tongue.

The programme was  inaugarated by Sri Biman Bandopaddhay Hon’ble speaker, West Bengal Legislative Assembly and Sri Bratya Basu, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Govt. of West Bengal in presence of Dr. Manas Ranjan Bhuinya, Hon’ble Minister in Charge and Dr. Sashi Panja, Hon’ble M.I.C. and Chairperson of our organisation.

The cultural programme consisted of songs, recitations and dance performances by the leading performers of West Bengal, namely Monomay Bhattacharya, Nachiketa Chackraborty, Srikumar Chattopadhyay, Pandit Bickram Ghosh, Pandit Debajyoti Ghosh, Sriradha Banerjee, Rupankar Bagchi, Lopamudra Mitra etc

About CCSS:

Cossipore Club Samannay Samiti is a co-ordination committee of almost 70 Clubs and social organization of Cossipore. The primary objective of this committee is to improve the socio-cultural scenario of cossipore. The journey began last year under the able guidance of Mr. Ajoy Ghosh, Dr. Sashi panja M.I.C. West Bengal Government is the chairperson of C.C.S.S Since then Cossipore Club Samannay Samiti has engaged itself in different social and cultural activities, Brief details of activities are given below.

14th August: “Freedom at midnight” was celebrated with cultural programmes and social welfare activities.

15th August: Celebration of 76th Independence day was celebrated in a be fitting manner and sports equipments were distributed to the member clubs.

5th September: Teacher’s day was celebrated.

Dengue awareness campaign was conducted, volunteers of C.C.S.S spread bleaching powder and mosquito repellent sprays in the locality, mosquito nets were distributed in the slums.

During Durga Puja new clothes were distributed.

Blankets and  food were distributed in winter.

A mega blood donation camp was organized.

Knitting Machines were distributed among women to make them self sufficient.

Groceries were distributed among the socio-economically backward people.

Wheel chairs were distributed among the specially challenged people.
