Gaganyaan Mission to Include Female Robot ‘Vyommitra’ in Milestone Flight

India’s space exploration journey is set to reach a groundbreaking milestone as the nation prepares to send a female robot named “Vyommitra” as part of the Gaganyaan mission. Union Minister Jitendra Singh made this exciting revelation during the NDTV G20 Conclave on August 26, shedding light on the country’s aspirations and advancements in space technology.

According to Mr. Singh, the first trial spaceflight is scheduled to take place in either the first or second week of October, marking a pivotal step forward in the Gaganyaan project. While speaking at the conclave, Mr. Singh emphasized the challenges posed by the pandemic, which had led to delays in the Gaganyaan project. He highlighted the gravity of the Gaganyaan mission, stating, “Bringing back the astronauts is as important as sending them.” This assertion underscores the meticulous planning and emphasis on safety measures that are integral to the success of human spaceflight missions.
