General Manager/Eastern Railway, Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi’s SAFETY INSPECTION AT TIKIAPARA COACHING COMPLEX OF EASTERN RAILWAY



Kolkata, June 09, 2023 : General Manager/Eastern Railway, Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, along with Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer/Eastern Railway, Shri. S.R. Ghosal, visited Tikiapara Coaching Complex of Howrah Division on 8th June, 2023. General Manager inspected various aspects with safety as top priority in the presence of Divisional Railway Manager/Howrah, Shri Manish Jain, Branch officers and Officials of Howrah Division.
During the visit, General Manager/ Eastern Railway inspected the Rake of 13071 (Howrah – Jamalpur) at pit line and various safety aspects of the coach undergear were discussed. This included items like Bogie side frame, axle box crown clearances, axle box safety strap, primary springs, secondary spring, side buffer, Battery box, Bio-toilet etc. Interiors of coach were also inspected including seat/berths, Rexine quality, chains and brackets; lavatory floor condition; amenity fittings; availability of water in taps; and flush valve etc. in AC as well as non-AC coaches. While inspecting at carshed, Shri Dwivedi, General Manager appreciated overall cleaning of the coaches. Fire Detection and Brake Application (FDBA) and Fire Detection and Suppression System (FDSS) operating and maintenance systems were also inspected by General Manager.
Shri Dwivedi also interacted with Supervisors, technicians and union representatives and emphasised about various safety issues. He also inquired about their safety knowledge of staff and working facilities, and assure them of all support in the ensuring safe maintenance of the coaches. General Manager also advised Divisional Officers so that all staff are provided with and are using Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs)
Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager/Eastern Railway and headquarter officers, accompanying the General Manager, also discussed about the bed rolls and material availability and assured that all critical material will be made available to ensure proper upkeep of the coaches to maximize safety as well as passenger satisfaction.informed Sri Kausik Mitra,Chief Public Relations Office
