Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry organised a Special Session on CRACK THE PASSPORT CODE, Today at MCCI Conference Hall.
Shri Ashish Middha, IFS Regional Passport Officer West Bengal, Tripura, Sikkim & Andaman and Nicobar Island Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India was the Chief Guest.
The Central idea of the Session was to discuss about e-passport and newer experiences in passport processing.
DigiLocker Passport service is a secure and government-backed platform which allows citizens to store, access, and share digital documents, including passports, streamlining the passport application process and verification.
GSR 570(E) is a notification issued on August 25, 1993, by the Ministry of External Affairs, India, regarding the issuance of passports to individuals facing criminal proceedings, allowing for short-validity passports under specific conditions.
To get verified Passport, the applicant should provide latest version of all the documents and should mention similar credentials in all the documents.
Shri Amit Saraogi, President, MCCI in his Welcome Address said that to augment and improve the delivery of passport services in India, the government had launched the Passport Seva Project (PSP). The Ministry of External Affairs has taken several initiatives to streamline the passport application process, making it more convenient and efficient for its citizens.
Shri Saraogi further mentioned that to make travel more secure, faster and easier for its citizens, the government has also launched an initiative to upgrade passports to e- passports containing a small electronic chip which holds information like name, date of birth, photo, fingerprints and iris scan of the passport holder. The electronic chip makes the passport more secure, making it difficult to forge or steal information.
