In two weeks, Strawberry, an AI with a focus on reasoning, is set to be added to ChatGPT by OpenAI

By integrating a potent service with the current ones, OpenAI hopes to increase ChatGPT’s capabilities. Strawberry is a brand-new AI model that will hopefully be released soon. It is said to think before releasing data. Its aptitude for resolving intricate issues has earned it the moniker reasoning-focused artificial intelligence. Remarkably, the release is not too far off. Strawberry will be released by OpenAI in the next two weeks, according to a recent story that was published in the Information. Although it is a component of ChatGPT, the forthcoming Strawberry model is a stand-alone product. Adding an additional option to the hamburger pull-down menu is a straightforward solution, however it is still unclear how OpenAI will accomplish this.
Strawberry is different from other conversational AI models in that it can consider a topic for a moment before answering, as opposed to answering right away, according to The Information. With this deliberate approach, Strawberry is able to produce more insightful and introspective answers. The study did, however, also state that the new AI model will be able to reply to text-only prompts. It won’t be able to interpret the photos, in contrast to the present ChatGPT version. This lowers the likelihood of hallucinations but also indicates that it is not yet multimodal.
Strawberry is poised to be a revolutionary reasoning model, enabling it to handle intricate, multi-step requests requiring sophisticated problem-solving abilities. This demonstrates its ability to handle complex and subtle inquiries and covers a wide range of jobs, from calculating difficult mathematical equations to creating elaborate, long-term marketing strategies.
However, compared to other conversational AI models, Strawberry’s reaction time can take up to 20 seconds, as reported by The Information. Even though it’s meant to respond to basic inquiries rapidly, it occasionally dwells on them. Early version testers discovered that the slightly better responses were insufficient to justify the longer turnaround time, making the wait seem needless.
Its sophisticated skills are probably the reason for the delayed responses. Compared to its brothers, Strawberry will require more computing power and cost more to operate. According to the sources, rate constraints limiting users to a maximum of messages sent in an hour are also expected to be there, along with the possibility of a faster-responding, more expensive tier.
OpenAI has been engaged in multiple projects concurrently. As an example, consider Orion, Strawberry, and more. We previously reported that, during the KDDI Summit in 2024, Tadao Nagasaki, the CEO of OpenAI Japan, said that the next AI model, known as GPT-Next, will be 100 times better than GPT-4.
According to Nagasaki, the GPT-Next model will make use of a scaled-down version of OpenAI’s highly-guarded Project Strawberry, formerly known as Project Q* or Q-star. It has been stated that GPT-Next is performing better not just because of more processing power but also because of improvements to its fundamental design, which enable more effective and efficient processing capabilities.
