2 NPP Mlas And 1 TMC MLA Resigned; One Is Expected To Join The Meghalaya BJP

On 28 November, three Meghalayan legislators resigned from the assembly: two from the NPP, which is currently in power, and one from the TMC, which is currently in opposition. In addition to leaving their respective parties, the trio declared that they would soon join BJP, a partner in the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance.
Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh accepted the resignations of TMC’s HM Shangpliang, Ferlin Sangma, and Benedic Marak of the NPP during the course of the day, according to Assembly Commissioner and Secretary Andrew Simons.
All three of them, according to Shangpliang, who was running for the Mawsynram seat, would be traveling to Delhi soon to join the BJP.
