International Yoga Day celebrated at Indian Museum, Science City, BITM, ICCR & others in Kolkata

International Yoga Day(IYD) was celebrated across Kolkata with great enthusiasm and mass participation including people from all sections of society and age groups especially kids , youths , senior citizens who joined global celebration of 9th International Yoga Day celebration across all continents and most of the nations who are part of United Nations .
Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lead flagship 9th International Yoga Day celebration at UN. It needs to be mentioned popularising yoga to improve quality of life of most of members of humanity on the planet Earth was brainchild of Shri Narendra Modi. It is pioneering effort of Indian government to minimise stress at individual level in every society as well as inculcate happiness and health in every society transcending political boundaries .
Theme of IYD2023 is “Yoga For Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam ” which is in sync with theme of India’s G20 Presidency “One Earth, One Family, One Future” . It is inspired from the Maha Upanishad, an old Sanskrit scripture
IYD celebration was organised by all Central Government organisations , across Kolkata ,West Bengal , India and Indian government organisations around the world . Government & people of large no.of nations in all continents also organised International Yoga Day.
Indian Museum , Science City, Birla Industrial Technical Museum , ICCR Kolkata hosted International Yoga Day at their premises .
At Indian Museum IYD2023 celebration, Ms. Rowan Ainsworth Consul General of Australia ,Miss Acharapan Yavaprapas, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata Shri G M Kapur President of INTACH West Bengal participated alongwith students from various schools , colleges , Bharat Scouts and Guides and large no.of Yoga enthusiasts . Indian Museum celebrated Yoga day in collaboration with The Art of Living . Indian Museum also celebrated World Music Day which coincides with International Yoga Day by organising a musical concert.
Science City Kolkata organised International Yoga Day in collaboration with The Kidney Care Society & others. At Science City program Shri Arijit Dutta Choudhary Director General of National Council of Science Museum (NSCM) , Shri Promod Grover Director Science City ,Ms. Soma Biswas Commonwealth gold medalist & Arjuna awardee Indian athelete, Prasanta Chakraborty former Indian Football player and Football coach , several other dignitaries and large no.of underprivileged children alongwith students from various schools participated.
Renowned nephrologist and philanthropist Dr. Pratim Sengupta conducted the live session to promote Yoga as a medium to attain a healthy life at Science City auditorium.
At BITM , the yogacharyas conducted yoga session with live demonstration in august presence of Subhabrata Chaudhuri Director Birla Industrial & Technological Museum . Shri Subhabrata Chaudhuri spoke on role of yoga in promotion of healthy life including minimizing stress . Subhabrata Chaudhuri also suggested yoga sessions can be introduce in office working systems to improve quality of life staffs.
ICCR Kolkata celebrated International Yoga Day where International students from various countries studying in Kolkata and neighbouring areas participated. Ms . Minakshi Misra Head and Zonal Director of ICCR Kolkata highlighted importance of yoga in every day life including promoting good health & quality of life of practitioners of yoga every day .
Large number of corporate houses ,NGOs including local government supported organizations in Kolkata celebrated International Yoga Day to resonate the spirit of “Har Aangan Yoga”
