The Project for Eye Testing and Surgery Instruments for Restoring Vision of Needless Blind Poor Patients in Gaya and Adjoining Districts in Bihar The Japanese Consulate general in Kolkata takes pleasure in informing that the Inauguration Ceremony was conducted by Honourable Mr. YAMASAKI Matsutaro San, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata.

October 17 (Monday), 2022.With the support of the People and the Government of Japan, NBJK utilized the grant amount of US$ 85,214 to procure 8 advanced eye equipment:
The advanced Eye Equipments were: 1 Operating Microscope, 1 Phaco Machine, 2 Slit Lamps, 1 A-Scan, 1 Non-Cataract Tonometer, 1 Yag Laser, 1 Auto-Refractometer through <The Project for Eye Testing and Surgery Instruments for Restoring Vision of Needless Blind Poor Patients in Gaya and Adjoining Districts in Bihar.
This project is under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Project (GGP) Scheme of the Government of Japan on Monday, 17 October 2022.
According to NBJK, with the above mentioned advanced equipment it will be possible to provide smooth access of Ophthalmic medical services to approximately 7 million patients in Gaya and two adjoining districts Nawada and Jehanabad in Bihar, which currently do not have any Ophthalmic hospital at no charge or low cost for the poor except for hospitals run by NBJK. Mr, YAMASAKI San, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata expressed his deep appreciation and encouragement to NBJK, stating about the works of the Organization in improving the eyesight of poor patients of Bihar. He strongly believes that in this special year of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and India will be further promoted through this project. Mr. Satish Girija, Secretary of NBJK, expressed gratitude to the People and the Government of Japan and mentioned that how the modern and highly advanced medical equipment supported by GGP will support them to increase their service to provide a smooth treatment for all types of ophthalmological disorders to the poor people of Gaya, Bihar at free of cost.
