Lilibet, The Daughter Of Prince Harry And Meghan Markle, Was Christened In The US; The Royal Family Was Asked But Did Not Attend

Princess Lilibet Diana, the youngest child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, was christened last week in a private service at their residence in California. A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that their 21-month-old girl was christened onMarch 3 by the Reverend John Taylor, Archbishop of Los Angeles. King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton were among the members of Harry’s immediate family who received invitations, but they declined to attend the event.

Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth in September of the previous year, Harry’s father ascended to the throne. Archie, 3, and Lilibet, the couple’s three-year-old daughter, now hold the names of prince and princess as well.

The pair christened Lilibet at their Montecito, California, home, per a report in People magazine. The insider also mentioned that Kate Middleton, Prince William, King Charles, and Queen Camilla had also been invited, but they were not present.

According to the story, only 20 to 30 people attended the christening, including Tyler Perry, who is Lilibet’s godfather, and Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland. Her godmother’s identity is still a mystery. Following the ceremony, visitors took part in dancing and eating. Little Archie was reportedly having a dance party with his sibling.

Tyler had mentioned in the Harry & Meghan documentary on Netflix that he had been requested to be Lilibet’s godfather by the couple. During the initial months of the COVID-19 pandemic, he offered them a spot to stay at his house in California. He allegedly flew in from Atlanta, Georgia for the christening with a 10-person gospel choir that sang the songs This Little Light of Mine and Oh Happy Day, which were also played at Meghan and Harry’s wedding.

Harry’s autobiography, Spare, was published in January. In it, he made a number of accusations against the royals, including that his elder brother William had knocked him to the ground during an altercation in London in 2019. If Harry, Meghan, and the kids will visit England in May to attend King Charles’ crowning has not yet been determined.
