Mamata Banerjee Praised By BJP’s Subramanian Swamy
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on October 26 lavished admiration on Mamata Banerjee of the TMC while the CPI(M)-led Kerala government sparred with Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. The former Rajya Sabha member also called Kerala’s communists insane and urged the Narendra Modi administration to be prepared to oust the state government if a hair of the Governor is touched at the time the remarks were made.
Swamy said that one now needed a telescope + microscope to find commies in Bengal in response to a Twitter user who questioned the durability of a communist regime.
The connection between the two leaders has been friendly for a long time; in the past, Swamy has compared Banerjee to Jayprakash Narayan, Moraji Desai, Chandrashekhar, Rajiv Gandhi, and P V Narasimha Rao. He described her as an intelligent leader more recently, saying that it was important to recognize brilliance even if we have ideological differences.
When the two leaders first met in August of this year, Swamy praised the charismatic TMC leader.
