India Post has announced the release of the merit list for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment 2024, encompassing 12 postal circles. Applicants can now view their results and prepare for the forthcoming document verification stage by visiting the official India Post GDS website at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
The merit list has been published for postal circles including Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Assam, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. This list is a crucial step in the recruitment process, providing candidates with their standings based on their 10th standard marks. Those who have been shortlisted will move forward to the document verification phase, which is essential for finalizing their appointment.
India Post’s GDS recruitment drive is designed to fill a total of 44,228 positions across 23 postal circles throughout India. With such a substantial number of vacancies, the merit list is an important tool for managing the selection process. Additional merit lists may be issued as the recruitment progresses, depending on the availability of positions and the overall selection process.
To check the GDS 2024 merit list, candidates should follow these steps:
- Navigate to the official India Post GDS portal: indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
- Locate and click on the link titled “GDS Online Engagement Schedule, July-2024: List-I of Shortlisted Candidates.”
- Enter your registration number and password in the designated fields.
- Click the submit button to view your results, which will appear on the screen.
- Download and save the merit list for your records.
For those who have been shortlisted, the next step is to prepare for document verification. Candidates must present original documents, including proof of date of birth, matriculation mark sheet, identity proof, and any relevant certificates (such as caste, disability, or economically weaker section certificates). This stage is crucial as it validates the candidate’s eligibility and confirms their selection. Failure to provide the required documents may lead to disqualification from the recruitment process.
Candidates who do not find their names on the current merit list should remain alert for any additional lists that might be released. These subsequent lists may provide further opportunities based on seat availability and ongoing recruitment needs.
As the recruitment process moves forward, it is essential for candidates to stay updated through the official India Post GDS portal and adhere to all instructions provided to ensure a smooth progression to the final stages of selection.
