Aciloc, Zinetac, and Rantac are some of the more well-known brand names for ranitidine. Due to worries about cancer, it is being examined internationally.
Because it may cause cancer, the Center has taken the well-known antacid salt Ranitidine off the list of critical medications. The list has been updated to remove 26 medications.
Aciloc, Zinetac, and Rantac are just a few of the well-known brand names for ranitidine, which is frequently given for conditions related to acidity and stomachaches.

The Health Ministry has addressed the specifics with the Drug Controller General of India and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) regarding pulling the salt out of the necessary supply as ranitidine is being scrutinized throughout the world due to cancer-related concerns.
Since the US Food and Drug Administration discovered a potentially cancer-causing contaminant in the salt in 2019, the salt has been the subject of investigations. In tests of medications containing ranitidine, drug authorities discovered “unacceptable amounts” of the cancer-causing contaminant N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA).
The prices of some highly sought-after medications, such as insulin glargine, delamanid, and ivermectin, as well as anti-diabetic medications and anti-tuberculosis medications, are projected to decrease in India now that the new essential list has been released.
