The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturer (SIAM) on Wednesday said that the sale of vehicles across the nation has seen an increase from 1,301,602 units to a huge figure of 1,611,300 units in the month of June in the period of a year.
The increase has been seen in all types of vehicles starting from cars to two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
The data released by SIAM says that the two-wheelers that have been dispatched to the dealers have also increased in a huge number to 1,308,764 against the last year’s figures of 1,060,565.
The figures have increased by 9.2% YoY for the sale of motorcycles, 70% for the sale of scooters and a humongous 184% for three-wheelers.

“…Recently the government has taken significant measures to ease the inflationary pressure and help the common man by reducing central excise duty on petrol and diesel and changing the duty structure to moderate prices of steel and plastic. Indian Automobile Industry appreciates and thanks the government for these efforts”, says Rajesh Menon, Director General of SIAM when asked to comment on such a surge of sales. He further added that Industry also keenly is looking forward to similar support on CNG prices which had seen exponential increase in the last 7months.
