After the Rajya Sabha MP launched a vicious attack on Atishi, who is expected to succeed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after he submits his reignition to Delhi LG VK Saxena at 430 pm tonight, the AAP urged Swati Maliwal to resign on Tuesday.
The Rajya Sabha MP said earlier today in Hindi on the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter) that a woman whose family battled for a long time to prevent terrorist Afzal Guru from being hung is going to be Delhi Chief Minister.
“Today is a very sad day for Delhi. Today, a woman whose family fought a long battle to save terrorist Afzal Guru from being hanged is being made the Chief Minister of Delhi. His parents wrote mercy petitions to the Honorable President to save terrorist Afzal Guru. According to him, Afzal Guru was innocent and was framed as part of a political conspiracy,” the former chairperson of Delhi Women Commission said.
Using the term “dummy chief minister,” the Rajya Sabha MP wished for Delhi’s protection while denouncing Atishi.
It is significant to remember that earlier today, during a parliamentary party gathering, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal suggested Atishi as his successor. Later on, she was chosen to lead the Delhi AAP Legislative Party.
On Sunday, Kejriwal had claimed that he would resign from his position as chief minister of Delhi after two days and return to the position whenever the people of Delhi deemed him to be “honest.”
