Yogi Adityanath Reiterates the Significance of Sanatana Dharma Amid Controversy

In the midst of a recent controversy sparked by DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments on Sanatana Dharma, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh has reaffirmed his belief that Sanatana Dharma is not merely a religion but the very essence of humanity, while characterizing other faiths as sects and modes of worship.

Yogi Adityanath conveyed this perspective during his address at the ‘Shrimad Bhagwat Katha GyanYagya’ event, emphasizing the vital role that Sanatana Dharma plays in global humanity. He asserted, “Sanatana Dharma is the only religion, the rest are all sects and methods of worship. Sanatan is the religion of humanity, and if it is attacked, then there will be a crisis for humanity across the globe.”

The Chief Minister’s statement was made during the concluding session of the seven-day ‘Shrimad Bhagwat Katha GyanYagya,’ which took place at the Gorakhnath Temple. This event was organized in memory of the 54th death anniversary of MahantDigvijayNath and the 9th death anniversary of the revered national saint, MahantAvaidyanath.

Expounding on the significance of Shrimad Bhagwat, Yogi Adityanath underscored the importance of maintaining an open and expansive mindset to grasp the profound essence of this revered text. He remarked, “The story of Bhagwat is boundless and cannot be confined to specific days or hours. It flows endlessly, and devotees continuously absorb its essence into their lives.”

Earlier in the week, Yogi Adityanath had paid tribute to MahantDigvijayNath, highlighting the saint’s unwavering commitment to the needs of the country and society. The Chief Minister extolled MahantDigvijayNath’s relentless efforts in confronting the challenges of his era. Hailing from the Rana clan of Mewar, Rajasthan, MahantDigvijayNath dedicated his life to the motherland, championing the cause of national self-respect. His legacy includes pioneering initiatives in both religious and political spheres.

Yogi Adityanath further expounded on MahantDigvijayNath’s contributions, stating, “MahantDigvijaynathji, after joining Gorakshpeeth, first laid emphasis on education and established MaharanaPratap Education Council. To imbue the young generation with nationalism, he expanded his institutions. The Education Council established by him has contributed to the establishment of a university and has established its own university. Besides, by establishing four dozen educational training institutes, it is working to prepare the young generation to tackle challenges related to the nation and society.”

In these remarks, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath not only reiterated the profound significance of Sanatana Dharma but also celebrated the enduring legacy of MahantDigvijayNath and his contributions to education, nationalism, and society. The discourse surrounding Sanatana Dharma continues to evolve, with varying perspectives and interpretations, but its status as a fundamental element of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage remains unwavering.
