YouTube Is Testing New System for Reducing Notifications from Infrequently Watched Channels

Google has revealed that it is trialing a new system for YouTube that decreases notifications from subscribed channels that are no longer watched. On YouTube, users have the option to configure the notification setting to All, ensuring they remain informed about all current activities from their favorite channels through push notifications.
Nonetheless, this becomes bothersome when you stop watching a channel but continue to receive notifications about it. Currently, the sole choice is to unsubscribe from them; however, if you have subscribed to many channels previously, YouTube’s reported upcoming system may provide some assistance.
As per Google, during this experiment, viewers who have not interacted with a channel lately but still received push notifications will no longer have that experience. Although they will still be accessible through the notification inbox in the YouTube app, they will not get push notifications from the channel.
This experiment will not impact the YouTube channels that users interact with regularly, nor those that post rarely. According to Google, rather than managing channel notifications one by one or changing their settings, users prefer to turn off notifications completely at the app level. Although this halts the unrequested notifications, it simultaneously prevents creators from connecting with their audience beyond the app.
Earlier this month, YouTube started a trial that automatically submits videos rated “Limited or no ads” for further suitability assessment. This implies that newly submitted reviews, regardless of being marked as private, will be subject to monetisation review, which could take as long as 24 hours.
In a later announcement, the video streaming service revealed that it was experimenting with a feature that allows users to conceal end screens on both desktop and mobile. Participants in the experiment will notice a Hide icon in the upper-right corner of the video as end screens begin to show, enabling them to conceal it.
