Today early morning when I heard the sad news of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben’s demise, it took me a couple of minutes to come back to the real world. It was a feeling of losing someone in the family!
These days I am on my annual holiday trip to Gujarat this time.
First thing that struck my mind was Heeraben ji words of wisdom to his worthy son Narendra when she had celebrated her centenary birthday.
“Karma karo buddhi se, aur jibon jio suddhi se,” Heeraben said to her illustrious son. Just hearing the sad news, I pledged to conduct my rest of the life following Heeraben’s invaluable advice to Narendra.
As an IT sector professional, I have realised that I too can humbly contribute, just like a squirrel, towards the making of a great nation by ensuring purity in thoughts and actions as advised by Heeraben to her son. When I shared my thoughts with renowned journalist of international repute Ratnajyoti Dutta, he told me, “Sagar, why not write a tribute for the departed soul about your noble thoughts as you have just now shared with me.”
Dutta agreed that the loss of Heeraben ji was not just a personal loss to Prime Minister Modi but the entire nation.
Taking cue from the journalist, I decided to pen down my humble obituary piece in honour of Heeraben ji.
