Jon Landau, the Oscar-winning producer behind cinematic masterpieces like “Titanic” and “Avatar,” passed away at the age of 63. His death was announced by Alan Bergman, co-chair of Disney Entertainment, in a statement released on Saturday. The cause of death was not disclosed.

Landau’s career was marked by historic achievements. In 1997, he produced “Titanic,” the first film to gross over $1 billion globally. He later surpassed this record with “Avatar” in 2009, and again with its sequel, “Avatar: The Way of Water,” in 2022. His work not only pushed the boundaries of cinematic storytelling but also set new benchmarks in box office success.
