Ambani Mobilises Reliance Workforce to Build Momentum for Jio’s Mega IPO
News Mania Desk/ Piyal Chatterjee/ 17th October 2026
Mukesh Ambani is drawing on Reliance Industries’ workforce to build interest in the proposed initial public offering (IPO) of Jio Platforms, as the conglomerate prepares for what could become India’s largest-ever stock market listing. The initiative highlights the scale of the preparations surrounding the anticipated public offering of the digital services business.
According to a report, Reliance Industries has encouraged employees to consider investing in Jio Platforms as the company seeks to generate wider participation ahead of the listing. The move comes as the group prepares to bring one of India’s most prominent telecommunications and digital businesses to the stock market.
Reliance has also reportedly credited employees’ October salaries around 15 days earlier than usual. The development has drawn attention amid preparations for the proposed Jio IPO, although the early salary payment alone does not establish how much employees may invest or whether the payment was directly intended to finance their participation.
Jio Platforms, the digital services arm of Reliance Industries, operates through Reliance Jio Infocomm, one of India’s largest telecommunications providers. Since entering the mobile market in 2016, Jio has transformed the country’s telecom sector through competitively priced data services and an extensive subscriber base. Its operations have expanded beyond connectivity into digital applications, entertainment and technology-driven services.
The company’s proposed listing is expected to attract considerable investor attention because of its scale, growth prospects and position in India’s digital economy. A successful offering could provide investors with an opportunity to participate directly in the business while potentially strengthening Reliance’s ability to unlock value from its digital operations. For Ambani, the proposed listing represents a significant step in Reliance’s broader strategy of developing its telecommunications and digital businesses.
