Much-loved Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has unfortunately had to decline an invitation to the upcoming wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, following a positive Covid-19 test result. The actor, who recently tested positive, made the responsible decision to isolate himself immediately, according to reports.
Sources close to the situation revealed that Akshay Kumar began feeling unwell while promoting his latest film, Sarfira. Concerned after learning that some crew members from his promotions team had tested positive for Covid-19, he underwent testing himself and received confirmation of his positive status on Friday morning. Consequently, he had to forego the final stages of his film’s promotional activities and, regrettably, his attendance at Anant Ambani’s highly anticipated wedding.
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani, personally extended the invitation to Akshay Kumar during a visit to his residence a few weeks ago. Akshay Kumar was among the select Bollywood stars privileged to receive a personal invite to this prestigious event. He had also participated in the vibrant pre-wedding celebrations held earlier in March, highlighting his close association with the Ambani family.
Despite Akshay Kumar’s absence, the wedding ceremony is expected to be a star-studded affair, drawing a constellation of A-list celebrities from both Bollywood and Hollywood.
