In the wake of Matthew Perry’s untimely death, a new and unsettling figure has emerged: Jasveen Sangha, infamously dubbed the ‘Ketamine Queen.’ This 41-year-old dual citizen has been thrust into the spotlight as a central suspect in the case surrounding the death of the beloved Friends star. Allegations against Sangha suggest that she played a significant role in providing the ketamine that contributed to Perry’s fatal overdose, shocking fans and the entertainment world alike.
The revelations about Sangha came to light on August 15, as the Department of Justice unveiled details in a press conference. The investigation into Perry’s death, which occurred at his rental property last October, has implicated several individuals. Among those charged are two licensed doctors and Perry’s long-time assistant. However, it is Sangha who has garnered considerable attention due to her alleged involvement in a broader underground drug network.
According to prosecutors, Sangha was involved in a criminal operation that exploited Perry’s struggles with substance abuse for financial gain. During a critical two-week period in October 2023, she allegedly sold substantial quantities of ketamine to Perry. Records indicate that Sangha sold approximately 50 vials of the drug, amounting to around $11,000.
Sangha’s background reveals a troubling pattern of drug-related activity. Prior to Perry’s death, she was allegedly linked to another fatal overdose case in 2019 involving Cody McLaury. An inspection of her residence after Perry’s passing uncovered an alarming cache of illegal substances, including 80 vials of ketamine, large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as bottles of Xanax and other prescription drugs. This discovery highlighted her significant role in a high-level drug distribution network.
Following Perry’s death, it was reported that Sangha sent a text message instructing a fellow drug dealer, Eric Fleming, to delete their communications after learning of the actor’s passing. This message indicated her awareness of the situation and potential involvement in the events leading up to Perry’s death. Sangha, who entered a not-guilty plea, faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
The alleged scheme leading to Perry’s death was reportedly orchestrated by Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plascencia, who is also facing charges. They were joined by Dr. Mark Chavez, who purportedly sold the drug to Plascencia; Eric Fleming, who confessed to distributing the ketamine; and Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s assistant, who allegedly administered the lethal doses. Sangha’s North Hollywood residence was reportedly used as a distribution hub for the ketamine.
As the case unfolds, the disturbing details surrounding Matthew Perry’s final days continue to emerge, leaving a trail of shock and disbelief. The involvement of such a wide network in the tragedy underscores the grave issue of substance abuse and the dark underbelly of the drug trade. The legal proceedings will shed further light on the extent of Sangha’s involvement and the broader implications of this case for both the entertainment industry and the fight against drug abuse.
