Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set an example of values-based politics, and other politicians, regardless of their party affiliation, should take note of how he operated with a clean image, according to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday. In an interview with media in Nagpur, BJP leader Fadnavis addressed a question about PM Modi’s 23rd year in public office.
The former state chief minister responded to a question about BJP leader Harshvardhan Patil’s possible move to the NCP (SP) by saying it was old news. One day after meeting party chief Sharad Pawar in Mumbai, Patil stated on Friday that he and his followers will be joining the NCP (SP). Next month is probably when the state assembly elections will take place.
“Modiji gave us an example of value-based politics. I feel all political leaders, irrespective of any party, should learn from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on how all these years, as chief minister and prime minister, the way he worked with a clean image,” Fadnavis said.
Patil, who has been elected as MLA four times from Indapur, is wanting to contest from the seat again. The NCP, an alliance partner of the BJP, is expected to field Dattatray Bharne, the current MLA, to retain her seat. Fadnavis responded, “Whenever the elections are near, the number of those seeking tickets increases,” to a question about BJP employees congregating in huge numbers at the party offices ahead of the state polls. We give their words our full attention.
