News Mania Desk/ Piyal Chatterjee/ 24th October 2026

Apple’s premium foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, reportedly sold out on quick-commerce platform Blinkit within five minutes of going on sale in Delhi-NCR on Friday, October 23. The rapid sellout sparked discussions on social media about consumer spending and demand for expensive smartphones in India.
Blinkit founder Albinder Dhindsa announced that the device became available on the platform at 8:15 am, but the entire initial stock was exhausted within minutes. He said the company was working to arrange additional supplies over the coming weeks, although no specific restocking date was announced.
The number of units made available during the initial sale has not been disclosed. Consequently, the quick sellout does not necessarily indicate the scale of overall demand for the device across the country. The iPhone Duo comes with a premium price tag. The 256GB variant is priced at ₹2,99,900, while the 512GB model costs ₹3,24,900. The 1TB version is available for ₹3,74,900, and the top-end 2TB model is priced at ₹4,49,900.
Despite the high prices, the device’s swift disappearance from Blinkit’s inventory attracted considerable attention online. Several social media users commented on the apparent willingness of Indian consumers to spend large sums on high-end technology products. Some described the episode as evidence of India’s growing purchasing power, while others questioned whether the limited availability of the initial stock had contributed to the rapid sellout.
The smartphone features a 7.6-inch foldable inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen. It is powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip and comes equipped with a dual 48-megapixel camera system. However, the limited information about the initial inventory makes it difficult to determine whether the five-minute sellout reflects exceptionally strong demand or a relatively small supply. Further sales and restocking figures could provide a clearer picture of consumer interest in Apple’s high-priced foldable smartphone in India.
