After missiles strike Israel’s north, Israel bombards Gaza and Beirut

Following rockets fired by the Lebanese armed organization into northern Israel and a drone launched at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vacation house, Israel on Saturday targeted what it claimed were Hezbollah weapons installations in southern Beirut. It was unclear at first if the structure had been struck, and Netanyahu was not present. But as Israel gets ready to strike back for an Iranian missile assault earlier this month, he labeled it a “grave mistake” and branded it as an assassination attempt by “Iran’s proxy Hezbollah.”
The strikes came after Israeli bombardments killed over 100 people around the coastal enclave and a siege surrounding three hospitals intensified, according to medical professionals and Hamas media in Gaza, where Israel has been fighting to eradicate the Palestinian terrorist group for more than a year. Hopes that the murder of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar on Wednesday would result in truces in Gaza and Lebanon and stop further escalation in the Middle East have been dashed by promises made by Israel and its adversaries Hamas and Hezbollah to continue fighting.
According to officials, diplomats, and other sources, Israel is attempting to employ more intense military operations to try to protect its borders and make sure its enemies can’t reorganize as the US elections draw near. Israeli aircraft dropped pamphlets bearing the slogan “Hamas will no longer rule Gaza” and an image of Sinwar over southern Gaza on Saturday. According to Hamas media and medical professionals, Israeli strikes on a multi-story building in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya later on Saturday killed at least 73 people and injured dozens more.
According to an Israeli official, the Israeli military is investigating claims of casualties from an airstrike in northern Gaza. The official also stated that initial analysis indicated the figures were inflated and did not correspond with the information it had been provided. Israel launched strong attacks on many targets in the southern suburbs of Beirut, causing dense smoke plumes to linger over the city into the evening. According to Israel’s military, the strikes were directed at “a number of Hezbollah weapons storage facilities and a Hezbollah intelligence headquarters command center.” According to witnesses, Israel carried out strikes in different sections of the suburbs despite issuing evacuation orders for four distinct neighborhoods, advising inhabitants to leave 500 meters (yards) away.
Two persons were killed by an Israeli hit earlier on Saturday while traveling on Lebanon’s main highway close to the town of Jounieh, which has a Christian majority. The Israeli military stated that it was investigating the event.
At least four people were killed in another attack in the Bekaa region of Lebanon, according to health officials. The second mayor to be assassinated this week was the mayor of a nearby town.According to the Israeli ambulance service, one person was killed and at least nine others were injured in a series of Hezbollah rocket salvos in Israel. Hezbollah did not immediately comment on any drone attack that the prime minister claimed was intended to assassinate Netanyahu and his wife at his home in the northern Israeli town of Caesarea.
