On December 4, 2024, Consul General of Japan Mr. NAKAGAWA Koichi hosted the Japanese tourism and Japanese cuisine promotion event at his official residence in Kolkata. The event was organized in association with Mr. KOSATO Hakuei, the Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador and Director, Kikkoman India. Consul General elaborates all offers to the world travelers for making Japan as the attractive tourist destination. Mr. KOSATO illustrated how the Kikkoman’s naturally brewed soy sauce came out to be a versatile ingredient for over 200 cuisines across pan -Asian and western dishes. Representatives from Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) explained the beautiful landscape of Japan with her bounty of natural elements, interesting local festivals. Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) delivered interesting presentations on their respective services such as the direct flight connectivity. The event was concluded with a special lunch with both authentic and fusion Japanese cuisines made by expert chefs. Participants representing city-based diplomatic envoys of several countries (CG of Australia, CG of Bhutan, CG of Germany, CG of Italy, CG of Thailand, other officials of China, the USA, the UK, and Hony. Director of CCK), international travel agents, restaurateurs and influencers enjoyed the delicious Japanese dishes ranging from popular Sushi and Tempura upto Wa-Chuka style Ramen salad, Ebi Chilli prawn and many more. The authentic taste of these delicacies came out with the use of Kikkoman soy sauce as a secret ingredient. Participants also enjoyed Beam Suntory’s cocktail of TOKI whisky and ROKU Jin along with Japanese Sake.
