The Yash Raj Films (YRF) studio frequently welcomes a number of prominent figures and celebrities. There are occasionally Khans or Kapoors there. The visitor at YRF on Wednesday, however, demanded even stricter security measures and even had Rani Mukerji meet and greet them. During his current trip to India, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stopped at the YRF studio in the Andheri area of Mumbai and spoke with the actor and YRF CEO Akshay Widhani.

The British prime minister drove to the YRF Studios under strict police guard after arriving by plane from London earlier in the day. The PM’s visit to a major Bollywood production center is intended to foster cooperation between the Indian and British film industries and promote cultural links, according to a statement from the British High Commission. His tour of the facilities is viewed as a first step in developing artistic collaborations, such as possible collaborative motion picture projects and cultural exchange initiatives.

Starmer was met on the studio grounds by Rani, the wife of YRF top executive Aditya Chopra, who was wearing a yellow salvar suit. A photo of them inside a wall covered in posters of some of Yash Raj’s most famous movies showed them engaged in a lively conversation about movies. In one of the photos, the British prime minister also attempted to operate an editing console. Later, he was spotted witnessing a presentation in the studio’s auditorium. At the Cooperage football stadium in South Mumbai, Starmer is also expected to take part in a football showcase event hosted by the English Premier League later in the day.
