
Kharagpur, November 7, 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur celebrated the historic milestone of 150 years of the National Song “Vande Mataram” with great pride and patriotic fervour at the Netaji Auditorium today. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Deans, faculty members, staff, and students, who came together for a mass singing of “Vande Mataram,” symbolising unity, national pride, and respect for India’s cultural heritage. The commemoration aimed to honour the timeless legacy of “Vande Mataram”—a song that has inspired generations in the pursuit of freedom, unity, and national identity. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. K. L. Panigrahi emphasised IIT Kharagpur’s continued commitment to contributing to nation-building through innovation, knowledge, and service. Through this celebration, IIT Kharagpur reaffirmed its commitment to fostering the values of patriotism, unity, and excellence among its academic community.
