According to sources, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has staked its claim to form the government, bringing an end to the prolonged period of central rule imposed amid political instability and violence.

. Party leaders said the NDA has the required numbers and support to form a stable government. The development is seen as a significant political step towards restoring normal governance in the violence-hit northeastern state.
