Kalajyoti Mahotsav 2025–26 Grand Finale Celebrates India’s Cultural Legacy with Grandeur, in collaboration with the Ministry Of Culture, Government of India from 26th till 29th March, 2026. With the inspirational effort of Famed Odissi Guru Monalisa Ghosh and Kalajyoti Members , Kalajyoti Mahotsav was celebrated at Kalamandap – The Ethnic Theatre, amongst eminent Guest of Honors – Swami Shivabhavananda, Project Director, Ramakrishna Mission, Lokashiksha Parishad,Narendrapur, Smt. Nilanjana Roy,All India Secretary, Samskar Bharati,.Dr. Haimanti Chattopadhyay, Member Secretary, West Bengal State Akademi of Dance ,Drama, Music, and Visual Arts,Rabindra Bharati University, Prof. Om Prakash Bharati, Head Of Department, International University of Performing Arts, Wardha, and Pandit Indrajit Basu, IPS, SRP West Bengal and Eminent Flautist, with a full house of audience.
The much-anticipated Kalajyoti Mahotsav 2025–26 unfolded as a vibrant confluence of art, culture, and tradition, drawing artists, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts from across the country. Held over several days, the festival showcased the richness of India’s classical heritage while providing a dynamic platform for emerging talent. Kalajyoti aims at providing the experience of stage experience to all talented performers irrespective of Veteran or upcoming talents.
The Mahotsav featured an impressive lineup of performances spanning classical dance, music, and theatrical presentations by about 200 performers. Renowned artists shared the stage with promising young performers, creating a harmonious blend of experience and fresh creativity. Each evening resonated with the rhythms of tradition, as audiences were treated to spellbinding recitals of Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Hindustani classical music.
Amongst Music Ensemble Samskar Bharati, Dakshin 24 Parganas Jela , and Pandit Indrajit Basu with Sri Sohon Ghosh on Tabla mesmerized the listeners. Excellent Choreography was presented under the direction on Guru Monalisa Ghosh, Bidushi Mehendi Chakraborty, Bidushi Sharmila Banerjee, Akash Sardar, Atasi Biswas, Suvojit Dutta, Sancharee Sengupta,Sristy Nandi.
A highlight of the festival was its thematic curation, focusing on the spiritual and philosophical essence of ancient India. Performances explored narratives rooted in mythology, devotion, and human emotion, reflecting the timeless relevance of Indian art forms. The productions were marked by intricate choreography, evocative music, and powerful storytelling, leaving a lasting impression on attendees.
