Kharagpur, West Midnapore: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed a public meeting at Nayapara in Kharagpur and campaigned for BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh, who is contesting from Kharagpur Sadar.
Speaking in Odia, Pradhan appealed to the people to vote for the BJP. During his speech, he praised the Odia-speaking people living in Kharagpur for preserving their language and culture over the years. He said their efforts reflect the strong and distinct identity of Odia heritage. Pradhan also sharply criticized the West Bengal government. He alleged that under the present government, job opportunities have declined, women’s safety has become a matter of concern, and farmers are facing many problems. He further claimed that the Mamata Banerjee government is trying to take away the rights of the people by sheltering infiltrators.
The BJP leader said these issues have created anger among the people across West Bengal. He added that the people of the state would give a strong reply to the government through their votes.
The rally was part of the BJP’s campaign in support of Dilip Ghosh in the Kharagpur Sadar constituency, as the party intensified its political outreach in the region.
