Netanyahu Underwent Successful Treatment for Early-Stage Prostate Cancer: Medical Report
News Mania Desk/ Piyal Chatterjee/24th April 2026

Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he recently underwent treatment for early-stage Prostate Cancer, according to a medical report released by his office. The disclosure provides clarity on the Israeli leader’s health after weeks of speculation and confirms that the condition was detected and treated at an early stage.
The report stated that the cancer was identified during a routine medical examination, where doctors discovered a small malignant tumour confined to the prostate. Medical experts emphasised that the disease had not spread beyond its initial site, making it highly treatable. Netanyahu subsequently underwent a course of targeted radiation therapy, which was completed successfully and resulted in the complete removal of the tumour.
Doctors overseeing his treatment described the procedure as effective and noted that the Prime Minister is currently in good health. They confirmed that there are no signs of residual disease, and his recovery has been smooth. The report added that Netanyahu remained physically active and continued to carry out his official duties throughout the treatment period, indicating minimal disruption to his work.
The announcement also explained why the information had not been made public earlier. According to Netanyahu, the disclosure was delayed for strategic reasons during a sensitive period marked by heightened regional tensions. Officials indicated that concerns over misinformation and potential misuse of the news played a role in the decision to withhold details temporarily.
This is not the first time Netanyahu has dealt with prostate-related health issues. In late 2024, he underwent a medical procedure to treat an enlarged prostate caused by an infection. Follow-up examinations during that period led to the detection of the cancerous growth, allowing for early intervention.
Medical specialists highlighted that early detection was key to the successful outcome in this case. Prostate cancer, when identified in its initial stages, can often be treated effectively with non-invasive or minimally invasive therapies. Netanyahu’s case reflects the importance of routine health screenings in identifying serious conditions before they progress.
The revelation is expected to reassure both the Israeli public and international observers about Netanyahu’s fitness to continue in office. As Israel navigates ongoing political and security challenges, the health of its leadership remains a matter of public interest.
