Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has assured medical aspirants that the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted in a fair, transparent and error-free manner, with authorities taking all necessary steps to maintain the integrity of the process and announce results on schedule.
The assurance came after Pradhan reviewed preparations for the nationwide examination at the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters in New Delhi. The re-examination is scheduled to be held later this month following the cancellation of the earlier test amid allegations of irregularities that sparked widespread concern among students and parents.
Speaking after the review meeting, the minister emphasised that the government was committed to ensuring that deserving candidates receive a level playing field. He urged students not to be influenced by rumours or misinformation surrounding the examination and instead focus on their preparations.
Pradhan stated that enhanced security arrangements and stricter monitoring mechanisms had been put in place to prevent any possibility of malpractice. Coordination among various agencies involved in conducting the examination has also been strengthened to ensure smooth operations at examination centres across the country.
The National Testing Agency has reiterated that it is taking all necessary measures to safeguard the credibility of the examination process. Officials have also cautioned against the circulation of false claims and misleading information related to the test, warning that legal action may be initiated against those found spreading rumours.
The minister further assured candidates that the results would be declared within the stipulated timeline so that admissions to medical colleges are not delayed. Timely completion of the process, he said, remains a key priority for the government.
