Paschim Medinipur District Police Concludes Road Safety Week 2026 with Awareness Programs and Awards

West Midnapore: To mark the closing day of Road Safety Week 2026, the West Midnapore District Police organized a series of important awareness programs across various police stations in the district. The events aimed to promote road safety and encourage responsible behavior among drivers and pedestrians.

During the day, several activities were held including traffic safety awareness camps and eye check-up camps specifically arranged for drivers. Sunglasses and fluorescent harnesses were distributed to enhance visibility and safety on the roads. The police also recognized the efforts of dedicated traffic officers through commendations, while responsible drivers who consistently followed traffic laws received awards and felicitations.

Distinguished citizens, prominent personalities, district police officials, family members of road accident victims, and members of the public attended these special events. The gathering emphasized the message that law enforcement alone cannot reduce road accidents; instead, a combination of awareness, responsibility, and humanity is essential for safer roads.

The honored drivers were praised for their consistent use of helmets and seatbelts and adherence to traffic rules, setting an example for all road users.
