Is WhatsApp down? Several users face problems in sharing text

On Monday morning, a number of WhatsApp users encountered problems with the messaging service. Sharing images, movies, stickers, GIFs, and other media files was a problem for most users. Multimedia communications, on the other hand, were either taking longer to send or becoming stuck during the upload process, although text messages were functioning well. India, the UK, France, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Spain, and Colombia all experienced outages.

While some reported receiving prompts to attempt uploading files again, others stated that photos showed in the chat box but stayed there and the other person didn’t receive any files. While attempts to transfer media files failed or took an unusually long time, most users reported that the chat service seemed to be operating normally. Many impacted users assumed that the messaging service’s media-upload features were the cause of the outage.

Users from a number of countries, including India, the UK, France, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Spain, and Colombia, reported the WhatsApp problem. The outage’s spread suggested that there might be more to the matter than just a local network failure. However, it was initially unclear how big the disruption was and how many users were impacted.

After experiencing problems, a number of customers used standard troubleshooting techniques to ascertain whether the issue was with their device or their connection. Users attempted reinstalling WhatsApp, resetting their smartphones, and alternating between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Some users claim that these actions did not fix their problem. According to the Downdetector, 41% of users said that messaging was the cause of their problems. The remaining 40% encountered problems with the program itself. Thirteen percent of users expressed dissatisfaction over not getting notifications.
